why does a piece of chapati tasts sweet when yoy chew on it

When chapati is chewed for some time it taste sweeter because, as you knowchapati is carbohydrates and it presents starch. When salivary gland secrets saliva, then it breaks carbohydrates into simple glucose thatis hexose. It is generally food in our body by hydrolysis of starch
