Why does a piece of cholk can absorb ink?

Adsorption of the colour- the process of adhesion of particles or components from any state of matter to a surface. When a chalk is dipped in ink, the coloured substance accumulates on the surface( only the surface gets coloured) and hence it is only a surface phenomenon.Jul
