Why does a plant shed its leaves if kept inside a closed room for long?

Leave loss depends on environmental conditions. the size of the room doesn't necessarily affect it. As long as it gets water and sunlight, it should be fine, however, if it is losing leaves, the quality of access of air might also be to blame, because plants need Carbon Dioxide (CO2) to survive.

As long as it gets water and sunshine it's fine.
However if it is losing leaves then the quality of air is also to be blamed as Plants require Co2 ( carbon dioxide) for surviving.
