A plastic container keep the contents cold longer than a metal container because metal container are good conductors of heat and they conduct the atmospheric heat of sun and hence they warm up the contents in them, while plastic containers are bad conductors of heat. Therefore plastic containers keeps the contents cold longer than metal container.

Hope it Helped.

Answer:

A plastic container keeps the contents cool for a longer time because plastic is a bad conductor of heat.

Explanation:

This totally depends on conductivity of heat. You see that plastic is a bad conductor of heat while metal is a good conductor of heat. That means water will get cooler or warmer faster in metal and slower in plastic. Some metal bottles (thermas) can even keep water warm or cold for many days because there are layers in that and between them is vacuum, so very less heat is radiated and when the bottle is hit often and there is no vacuum then its effeciency decreases drastically.
