Why does a producer prefers 2nd stage of production?

The producer prefer second stage of production because after a lot of research they came to know that the second stage of production is the best one as they called the rational stage of production. It is rational because in the second stage when they produce the commodities that results in the optimum level of benefit or utility for the individual.
