some seeds need frost, some fire. All the required conditions a seed requires for germination will not be present in the closed jar, but humidity serves as the most important. Usually, they do not germinate as they are devoid of sunlight and moisture, which would be required for germination. In case they get wet in closed jar, they can mold mildew and die out.
