why does a sharp knife cut vegetables be better than a blunt knife?

Beacuse sharp knifes have less area and less area means more force applied as force is inversly proportional to area wheras in blunt knife it is the contrary

Pressure is inversely proportional to area. Sharp knife has a small area of contact than the blunt knife. Thus, a force will exert more pressure while using a sharp knife than while using a blunt knife.
