Because sharper side exert more pressure ( thrust) and has less area than blunt side of the knife , in sharper side exert force at particular area , that's why fruits or other thing get cut easily while blunt side doent exert force at particular area

Hope this helps you:)

it is easier to cut an apple from the sharper side than blunt because the sharper side has a less area.

The lesser the area of contact of a given body, the more is the pressure exerted by it.

The more the area of contact of a given body the lesser the pressure it will exert.

The blunt knife has more area hence the pressure exerted is less while the sharp knife has less area hence the pressure exerted is more, therefore, it is easier to cut an apple with a sharp knife.
