why does a sheet of paper fall slower than one that is crumpled into a ball

this happens because the fall is through air.The air offers resistance to the motion,due to friction to the falling objects. The resustance offered to the paper is more than the eesistance offered by the air to the ball

Sheet of paper fall slower than a crumpled ball. This is because the surface are of sheet paper is more than crumpled ball . Hence small force acts on the sheet paper against the crumpled ball. The crumpled ball has high force due to less surface area.

Higher will be the surface area then lesser will be force acting on that body.
