Social division takes place when some social difference overlaps with each other. The difference between Blacks and Whites become a social division in the US because the Blacks tends to be poor and homeless and discriminated against. In our country India Dalits tend to be poor and they often face discrimination and injustice. Situations of this kind produce social division, when one kind of social difference become more important than the other and people start feeling that they belong to different communities.
