The change of state of a solid into liquid and a liquid to gas during heating causes the breaking of intermolecular force of attraction between the particles of the matter respectively.

because the force of attraction is more high in solid and on heating it's force of attraction is less that's why solid changes in liquid .
and like this on heating liquid force of attraction is break down and converts in gas.
