The color of turmeric turns to red when it washed with soap
• Turmeric stains are red because of the presence of tartaric acid in it.
• As tartaric acid is an acid and when it washed with soap which contains sodium hydroxide which is a base.
• Then the acid and base react to form a chemical reaction
• The result of this chemical reaction is that yellow color of turmeric acid turns to red
