why does a white body reflect most of incoming light and a black body absorb almost all the light received?

White is all the seven colors of the spectrum where as, black is the absence of colors well you know...black object absorbs all wavelengths of light and reflects none and that's why it appears black.
Consequently,things that are white, REFLECT all wavelengths of light and that's why they appear white
