After the digestion offood, the absorption of food occurs in small intestine.
Reason:
1. The small intestine is the main region for absorption of digested food.
2.The inner surface of small intestine has millions of tiny , finger like projections called Villi.
3. Each Villus has a network of fine blood capillaries close to thesurface.
4. The presence of Villi gives the inner walls of small intestine greater surface area which helps in rapid absorption of food.
