After the digestion of food, the absorption of food occurs in small intestine.

Reasons:-

1. The small intestine is the main region for absorption of digested food.

2.The inner surface of small intestine has millions of tiny , finger like projections called Villi.

3. Each Villus has a network of fine blood capillaries close to the surface.

4. The presence of Villi gives the inner walls of small intestine greater surface area which helps in rapid absorption of food.

5. The digested food which is absorbed through small intestine goes into our blood.
