why does addition of sodium chloride salt make the water a better conductor to electricity? name the glases that are liberated during electrolysis of water

Water does not form ions, so on adding NaCl which is an ionic copmpound, it forms ions :
Na+ and Cl- and makes water a better conductor.

The gases that are liberated during electrolysis of water are Hydrogen & Oxygen
