Amanda wants to be Rapunzel because she wants to lead a quiet, ‘tranquil’ life away from everyone, especially her mother.

Amanda has been nagged by her mother to such an extent that she simply wants to run away. All she wants is peace, where there are no voices and fre(e)dom, to live as she wants to, without being bothered by any(o)ne. According to the fairytale, Rapunzel lived in a tower and was cut off from the rest of the world. Amanda feels that the tower would fre(e) her from the unpleasant instructions of her mother because she would be far from her.
