✔✔An ammeter is connected in series with the circuit because the purpose of the ammeter is to measure the current through the circuit. Since the ammeter has low resistance so it connects in series not in parallel as parallel requires high resisitance would cause a short circuit, damaging theammeter and/or the circuit.

Hey dear mate !!!.
Here's is ur answer ^____^.
✔This is becoz ammeter is a low impendance device or low resistance device,
Soo if we connect ammeter in parallel . They would cause a circuit.
Dear:) hope its helps ☺
