Question :-
Why does an aqueous solution of acid conduct electricity ?
Answer :-
An aqueous solution of an acid contains hydrogen ions its solution.
Thus this acid solution contains free ions .
Water helps to dissociate the acid to form free ions of hydrogen.
The hydrogen ions react with water to become hydronium ions.
This presence of free ions is helpful for conduction of electricity.
Hence the acid is able to conduct electricity in its solution state.
Note that the acid may not conduct electricity in the normal state.
Hope it helps !
