Answer:

When the athlete runs in the race, his body needs more oxygen. His rate of breathing increases so that more oxygen can be supplied to the body. This is the reason, an athlete needs to breathe faster and deeper than usual; after finishing the race.

AFTER A RACE , SINCE MOST OF THE ENERGY IN OUR BODY IS USED ,OUR HEART NEEDS TO PUMP MORE OXGINATED BLOOD TO THE BODY.

THERE ARE 2 TYPES OF BLOOD , OXGINATED AND DEOXIGINATED.

OXGINATED IS BLOOD WITH ENERGY AND DEOXIGINATED IS THE USED BLOOD WHICH  GOES BACK TO HEART.

THE HEART FUNCTION IS TO MAKE THE BLOOD OXGINATED FOR WHICH THE ATHLETES BREATHE DEEP AND HARD.
