Why does an ice cube get converted into water?

When we apply heat to ice cubes,it provides enough energy to the particles to break apart from each other and thus their state changes.

when ice cube is in contact with air,the heat of the air increases the internal energy if the molecules and they start moving. This process is called melting and in short time the ice cube get completely converted to water.
