why does an iron needle sink in water whereas a ship floats on the water ? answer regarding up thrust not shape or density

we all know that thurst is the perpendicular pressure exerted on a surface hence the iron needle sinksin water since it exerts higher thrust on water than ships therefore the ship floats and the iron needle sinks into the water.
