why does an iron ship float on water but in iron nail sinks in water?☺

samrudhi15: because the density of iron slip is more than water thats why it sinks
samrudhi15: and the iron nail floats in water beacause its density is less from water
Ukrain: what!
samrudhi15: u r from @odisha??
Ukrain: yes
samrudhi15: same

➡As the density of an iron nail is more than that of water, the nail sinks in water The volume of water displaced is much greater than the volume of the iron ship. Hence, according to Archimedes' principle, the upthrust is more than the weight of the ship. That is why the iron ship floats in water

Answer:

the density of iron is more than the density of water therefore the weight of the nail is more than the upthrust experienced by it causing it to sink. ... Thus even with a small portion of the ship submerged under water, the weight of the water displaced by it becomes equal to the weight of the entire ship.
