Why does an ordinary glass tumbler crack if very hot water is poured into it?

The crack is caused by differential thermal expansion. The part of theglass that the boiling water touches first expands due to the heat, but theheat doesn't conduct through the glassquickly so there is stress between the expanded inside of the glass and unexpanded outside of the glass.

is it useful☺️☺️☺️
