Anne wants to keep a diary because she wanted to have a true friend in whom she could confine everything she wanted. She had many friends but she felt that she wasn’t able to connect with them and thus, didn’t consider them real friends. She kept a diary so that she could fill it with whatever she was feeling. It wasn’t for anyone to read so she wrote everything she felt and thought.
