why does aquarium have to be cleaned once in a while? Do we have to clean Ponds or lakes in the same manner? why or why not?

We need to clean aquariums but not ponds and lakes because , in lakes and ponds , decomposing organisms are present which break down the waste material into smaller particles whoes nutrients are then taken up by the aquatic plants and animals. Thus in lakes and ponds they act as the cleaning agents.
