Explanation:
The surface area of a ship's bottom is more than a block smaller than itself. And if u want to increase the surface area of the block the weight increases dramatically. as the ship's r made out of 'sheets' of metals so the surface area is at it's max while keeping the weight as light as possible for such a surface area.
Plus there is also air in the ship it's something like a metal balloon

A ship has a huge base and displaces a large amount of water and hence experiences a large buoyant force whereas an iron ball displaces a relatively less amount of water and hence it experiences a relatively less force. Hence the ship floats whereas the ball sinks.
