Baking soda is a base in nature so it neutralise the acid and thus works like antacid

baking soda is basic in nature and in our stomach acidity occours due to more secretion of HCl..(as we know HCl is secreted in stomach by gastric glands..)
so , baking soda is given as an antacid to nutrilise the acidity of stomach.....
