why does Bee sting cause pain and irritation ? rubbing of baking soda on the sting area give relief. how?

because when bee stings it's acidic effect is left on our skin but when we rub baking soda in it, which is basic in nature, acidic effect neutralise and it causes relief.

Bee sting contains methanoic acid which is weak acid but cause some irritation.
Baking soda is a base.So, if it is rubbed acid+base got neutralise and irritation is gone.
