why does BeH2 exist as a polymer

Answer:

BeH2 being polymeric means it forms polymeric chains between it's molecules .Actually it contains bridging hydrogens between two berrilium atoms.The monomer BeH2 is formed with normal bonds and thus berrilium atom in it is deficient i.e have only four electrons and the structure is unstable.
