Why does benzaldehyde give negative test with fehling's solution?

Benzaldehyde(bitter almond ) lacks alpha H...Fehling test results in removal of alpha H and consequently forming a corresponding enolate.. Moreover, if you were to somehow for Benzaldehyde to form an enolate, it will be immediately stabilised by conjugation.. So Tollen's reagent(silver mirror test ) is more preferable for aromatic aldehydes..
