why does BF3 behave as Lewis acid

BF3 contains empty d orbitals therefore it accepts lone pair of electrons.

Lewis acid are the compound which are electron deficient .and in BF3 all Fluorine are satisfied by complete octate but Borone has 6 electron in outer shall so it is electron deficient and act as Lewis acid
