When his wife stopped him to go as she was afraid that something bad would happen, then according to Caeser if he had not went there, he would have thought as a coward. That's why he said that cowards die many times before their deaths as a coward have to face a lot of times defeat and due to fear a coward can't do anything .

Cowards die many times before their deaths the valiant never taste of death but once.
Why did Julius Caesar say Cowards die many times before their deaths?
- What does Caesar mean by “Cowards die many times before their deaths the valiant never taste of death but once?” He means that those who run from their fears and never face them are dying metaphorical deaths.
- They are losing a part of their self-worth and their soul in doing so.
- When his wife stopped him to go as she was afraid that something bad would happen, then according to Caeser if he had not went there, he would have thought as a coward.
- That's why he said that cowards die many times before their deaths as a coward have to face a lot of times defeat and due to fear a coward can't do anything .
Hence, Cowards die many times before they die, whereas the valiant only die once.
