Hey mate !!!!
♦ as we know that calcium is highly reactive metal.
♦ when the calcium is react with water it form
Ca + H2O => Ca (OH)2+ H2 (g).
♦ due to formation of hydrogen gas the hydrogen stick on the surface of calcium.
♦ due to formation of hydrogen gas it Stick on the surface of calcium and start floating.
hence , the calcium flot due to formation of hydrogen gas .
hope it helps !!!! D
thanks ,

"The reaction of calcium with water is less violet . So , the heat realesed is not sufficient for the hydrogen to catch fire . calcium starts floating beacuse the bubbles of hydrogen gas which are formed during the reaction stick to the surface of the matal and hence calcium floats on water ".
hope it is useful.... beacuse this answer was verify by Google ..
