why does camphor become gas ditectly withoit changing into liquid?

camphor converts into gas directly without changing into liquid because when at room temperature it is subjected to sublime . thus sublimation occurs i.e conversion of solid into gas directly without changing into liquid state

because camphor is a sublimate.Sublimation is the transition of a substance directly from the solid to the gas phase, without passing through the intermediate liquid phase.
