Why does charcoal not produce flame while burning

The substances which vaporize during burning give flames. For examplecombustion of kerosene oil produces flame. On the other hand certain substances like coal do not vaporizeand hence doesn't produce a flame. ... so charcoal does not get vapourised during burnig so it does not produce flame

Coal too burns in air producing carbon dioxide, heat and light. But it does not produce any flame. ... The substances which vaporize during burning give flames. For example combustion of kerosene oil produces flame.
