CHERAPUNJI is located in eastern india a d RAJASTHAN is located in western india .
when monsoon comes in RAJASTHAN there is no any obstacle. however there is ARAVALI range but it is parallel to the monsoon winds so due to not any obstacle RAJASTHAN recieves a few rainfall where the other side CHERAPUNJI is in MEGHALYA and in MEGHALYA there sre three mountains named GARO , KHASI , JAYANTIYA as obstacle so it gets a heavy rainfall .
