Question:
Why does colour of iron nail change when we dip it in copper sulphate solution with example?
Answer:
◆ When we add iron nail in Copper Sulphate Solution.
Equation: CuSO4 + Fe ---- FeSO4 + Cu
CuSO4 = Copper Sulphate Solution
Fe = Iron nail
FeSO4 = Iron Sulphate
Cu = Copper
◆ It is a Displacement reaction.
◆ Displacement Reaction: The reaction in which high reactive metal displace the less reactive metal is called DISPLACEMENT REACTION.
◆ In these above equation Iron is high reactive metal than the copper because Iron ( Fe ) will displace the Copper ( Cu ).
