Why does cuboidal coloumnar epithelial tissue is in the shape of CUBE??

cuboidal tissue is formes of single layer of cube like cells. they also appear hexagonal or polygonal
whereas in columner tissue are formed of pillar like cells which are longer than the broad so they appear as cube shaped
