Why does cytosine pair with guanine and not adenine?

cytosine pairs with gianine because cytosine is complementary to guanine and not to. adenine... however Cytosine is purine which always pairs with one of two pyrimidines.
But as cytosine this purine and guanine this pyrimidine both preferrs to form three hydrogen bonds they easily pairs with each other. Rather than if we have to say about adenine it forms only two hydrogen bonds. hence not pairs with cytosine. I think ............
