The city of Darjeeling is located in the Himalaya mountains at 7000 ft elevation. As height increases temperature decreases gradually. Hence its having pleasant weather than kolkata during summer.

Darjeeling is at an elevation of 2645 meters. Kolkata is at an elevation of 6 meters. Even through both are located in West Bengal, there is a difference in their elevations. So, Darjeeling has pleasant weather when compare to kolkata
