Deccan Plateau is not suitable for agriculture than the Ganga Plains because first of all it has Hard Rocks which does not allow the rain water to populate in the ground and it is difficult to build a Canal due to the hard rock so we can build tanks only but sometimes the water can evaporate from the shallow expanse of the tank moreover the soil is not that suitable and there is less rainfall .
