Answer:
The surplus carbon is stored in the plant, helping it to grow. When trees are cut down and burned or allowed to rot, their stored carbon is released into the air as carbon dioxide. And this is how deforestation and forest degradation contribute to global warming.

As we know that trees make their food through photosynthesis which contains sunlight and carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide gases are absorbed by trees, they take carbon dioxide and releases oxygen. Deforestation lead to increased carbon dioxide in the air because there are no trees to take carbon dioxide and release oxygen. thus, the rate of carbon dioxide in the air increases day by day.
