As we know that during diarrhoea there is passing of watery stool.
.
.
Because there is no absorption of water in the large intestine.
.
.
This causes excess loss of water and the electrolytes from the body.
.
.
As the amount of water in the body decreases , it leads to dehydration.

Dehydration is a loss of body fluids, which are made up of water and salts. When sick children vomit or have diarrhea, they can lose large amounts of salts and water from their bodies, and can become dehydrated very quick.

Follow these four steps to prevent dehydration:

Drink plenty of water, as directed by your doctor. Eat foods with high amounts of water like fruits and vegetables. Avoid or limit drinks with caffeine like coffee, teas and soft drinks. Avoid or limit drinks with alcohol.

Person can be cured by giving fluids and ORS ..
