Why does diabetics patient take insulin by injection and not take it orally?

Insulin cannot be taken through mouth because it is digestible. Oral insulin would be obliterated (destroyed)long before it reaches bloodstream...once injected, it starts to work and is used up in a matter of hours

Insulin hormone regulates blood sugar levels . If this is not secreted in proper amounts , the sugar level in the blood rises . This causes many harmful effects .

To treat harmful effects of increased level of blood sugar , the diabetic patients are treated by giving injections of insulin .
