Diamonds are faceted to be reflectors of light. Each facet reflects light and that is what gives a diamond its shine. A well cut diamond will literally sparkle in the light. Apoorly cut diamond will will dark and dingy. That is why cut is king! It is the most important of the4C's (cut, color, clarity, carat weight).
