why does distilled water not conduct electricity ? whereas rainwater does ? give reasons .

That is because rainwater contains dissolved salts which help in conduction of electricity whereas distilled water is devoid of them.

distilled water doesn't contain contaminants such as iron etc so it doesn't conduct electricity. Whereas rainwater contain such contaminants
