Why does distilled water not conduct electricity, whereas rain water does?​

distilled water has no ions in it but rainwater contains ions which help to conduct electricity.

Answer:

For a liquid to conduct electricity, it must contain free ions. Distilled water does not contain free ions and so electricity cannot pass through it. Rainwater has ions dissolved in it and hence it conducts electricity.
