Distilled water not conduct electricity,

Distilled water not conduct electricity, whereas rain water does

  • A substance conducts electricity if it has free electrons or ions. The moment of this I want is termed as electricity itself .

  • A distilled water is devoid of such ions or minerals  which conducts electricity.

  • In the absence of these free ions distilled water does not conduct electricity whereas the rainwater contains enough minerals and other dissolved acids which conducts electricity.

  • The distilled water can be made conducting by adding small amount of acid to it.

  • Generally distilled water is used for scientific experiment and other research program on Laboratory hence it is needed to remove such free ions.
