Why does distilled water not conduct electricity, whereas rain water does?

distilled waterhas no ionic content in them....whereas in rain water there are some ions present as impurities....for conduction of electricity free electron is needed which is present in ions.

rain water contain dissolved gases like co2 ,s02 etc.. these gases on dissolving in water form acid like carbonic acid etc which dissociate into ions hence rainwater conduct electricity. distilled water contain no dissolved gases .hence it do not  contain any ions and does not conduct electricity
